A2 was retired. Here’s what replaced it.
The old visa exemption index. Renumbered rather than split — the exemption itself still exists, as A1.
The code changed, but so did the list: the exemption went from 169 jurisdictions to 13 in 2024 and back up to 19 in July 2026. Check yours.

The category still exists; it was renumbered in the restructure. Everything below reads from the current index, so the conditions are the live ones.
Why the code changed
Indonesia renumbered its whole visa system
The system went from 133 types to 110, and the purpose codes became far more specific. The stated intent was to remove redundant categories and force applicants to declare a specific purpose, so immigration can monitor activity accurately.
